For spinal implants, bone screws, fixation plates and more, understanding which materials will provide the exact qualities you need is the key to product success. LaVezzi partners with you to help ensure that the best material for the application is selected.

LaVezzi has extensive experience with a wide variety of advanced materials created for device and implant use. These include materials that are biocompatible and / or bioabsorbable. And we source them from only the best suppliers in the industry, so you can be assured that they meet specifications. Once at LaVezzi’s 50,000-square-foot facility, materials are kept in a secure raw material rack, with an alarm system, accessible only by authorized personnel. All materials are traceable through finished product. Plus, all materials used in devices and implants are further inspected using X-ray fluorescence to ensure that the materials meet the required chemical composition.

Some of the materials LaVezzi works with include:

  • Surgical grades stainless steel, including 316LVM, 455, 465 and 17-4PH
  • Implantable plastics, including PEEK and bioabsorbable-grade plastic
  • Non-implantable plastics, including Radel®, Ultem®, Teflon®, Vespel® and UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene)
